Electives

  • We encourage you to consider an undergraduate clinical elective in Palliative Care at McMaster University. Elective opportunities range from urban to rural settings, including in Hamilton, Waterloo and Niagara campuses; as well as at regional sites through Mac-CARE.
  • Patient care settings vary by site, and can include a combination of: Inpatient consultation, outpatient clinic, palliative care unit, residential hospice, and home visits.

Clerkship Electives – McMaster MD Students:

  • Palliative Care Elective requests must be submitted through MedSIS. MedSIS requests will be placed by Division office if accepted on MedSIS. Do not contact individual faculty members directly with requests.

Post-MF4 Electives:

  • A select number of Post-MF4 elective opportunities are available for medical students transitioning between Years 1 and 2 (between Medical Foundation 4 and Integration Foundation). These elective requests must be submitted to MedSIS, similar to Clerkship Electives.

Clerkship Selective – McMaster MD Students:

  • Beginning for the Class of 2022, our Division is planning to offer a pilot 2-week Clerkship Selective rotation as part of the Transition to Residency. Selective requests must be submitted to MedSIS, similar to Clerkship Electives.

Clerkship Electives – Visiting Students:
